The Palliative Care Centre is built on the belief that every individual deserves comfort, dignity and emotional support during life-limiting illness. Palliative care focuses on enhancing the quality of life for patients and their families by preventing and relieving suffering through early assessment, timely intervention and holistic treatment. This specialized approach integrates physical, psychological, social and spiritual care to ensure that patients experience peace, comfort and compassionate support at every stage.
Rather than attempting to cure the illness, palliative care emphasizes comfort, symptom relief and emotional well-being. It becomes the primary focus when active treatment is no longer beneficial. Whether referred to as comfort care, supportive care or symptom management, the objective remains the same — offering warmth, dignity and relief from distress to those who need it most.
Inspired by the suffering of underprivileged terminally ill patients, Shri Sugalchand Jain, an active member of the Governing Council of the Cancer Institute, Adyar, took the initiative to establish a world-class Palliative Care Centre at Sriperumbudur. His vision reflects deep empathy and a commitment to serving humanity.
The Singhvi Charitable Trust continues to transform lives and strengthen communities — carrying forward its mission with integrity and compassion, inspired by the philosophy of "Live and Let Live."
